It's a Cecret {lake}

Yesterday Mom, Elsie and Jace went for a hike to see the animals and the lake.  The hike was hard because I fell a lot on the rocks coming down from the lake.  I had a fun time though and want to go back again.  My favorite part of the hike was the tiny rocks because I didn't trip on them.  A nice man helped me down off of the big rocks -- he carried me for awhile.  I was happy that he did.

Me and Elsie getting ready for the hike.  We just got our sunscreen on
Tiny Tiny Elsie is packed up and ready to go.  Her big hat protects her from the sun.
Here we are running down the path.  I had fun hanging out with my mom and sister.
That's me standing on a rock with my Lightning McQueen shoes.
This is the big stream we had to cross.  It got my shoes really wet and my feet looked funny after. We had to cross four streams on our hike.
We found a patch of snow!  We tried walking on it but it was slippery and made me a little scared.
Everyone told me that I was a strong boy for going on this hike by myself.
After a long time we finally made it to the lake.  We found a big big rock and sat to eat and rest.  Elsie was crying and getting hungry so my mom fed her some milk.
That is our family at the top of the hill next to the lake.  I'm glad we went!
And this a picture that mom took of me on the way home from the hike.  It was a long long hike and I was very tired.  My whole family took a nice long nap when we got home!

J-A-C-E spells JACE.

Last night my mom stayed up late and made my special crayons a new container.  It rolls up and keeps my crayons all in one place.  I like it a lot.  I took my new crayons and the new notebook and started to draw.  I got my notebook last night while we were shopping.  I picked the little notebook because it's a handy dandy notebook like Steve's from Blues Clues.
My mom showed me how to write my name.  I looked at her picture and copied down the letters.  She helped me out a lot and showed me how and where to start my letters.
This is the first time I have written my name.  My mom and dad are so proud of me.
All morning I have been practicing writing my name.  My mom hasn't helped me since the morning.  I can do it myself.

We went to the farm

Today we went to the farm.  It was so fun to go and see all of the animals.
when we got to the farm the chickens were there to greet us.  I wasn't scared at all and went up to say hi.  The white chicken and I had a fun time chasing each other around the tree.
Elsie got to go with us.  She had so much fun, she was awake the whole time.
We got to pet the horses.  As soon as we walked up to the fence, they came to say hi.  The white one was trying to eat the grass, so we helped him out and gave him a few leaves.  My mom said that we probably shouldn't feed the animals -- so these were the only two that got special treatment.  The big brown horse sniffed my hand.  His mouth felt funny and made me laugh.
There were lots of friendly horses!
I liked to put my hand in the cages to pet the animals.  This goat was missing half of one of his horns.
This is me with the big orange tractor.  The wheels were bigger than me!
At the end of our stay we bought an otter pop and food for the ducks.  There was a lot of food in that sack and I had fun throwing it out to the ducks.
As we were walking back to the car, all of the animals were getting their dinner.  We watched the mama cow for a long time.  We watched milk drip out of her body onto the ground.  My mom told me that's where the milk we drink comes from.

Little Red Hen

Today we read a book called "The Little Red Hen" -- when we were finished, we thought it would be fun to make our own bread -- just like little Red!  Luckily, we have wheat on hand ... and something to grind it with ... so we set off with our necessary materials and went to work.

In this picture we are making the flour for the bread.  The machine sounds terrible -- eeeehhhhhhrrrrrkkkk!
Here we are making the bread.   We had to take the spoon and dump the stuff into the machine.
 Careful not to spill!
Luckily we have a machine that will make the bread for us!  It's almost time to eat the bread!
After the bread was done, we got out the butter and jam, just like little Red.  It was so yummy I ate 1.5 pieces of bread.  I wanted more, but Mom said I need to wait for Dad to come home from work.
